Position Summary:
- The Director of Patience Care Services assumes responsibility for the planning, priority setting, coordination, management and evaluation of patient and staff education for the Jackson Health System(JHS).
- Provides the organization with a positive example of cooperative leadership by maintaining an enthusiastic and progressive relationship with patient care services, directors and vice presidents, as appropriate.
- Exercises shared responsibility for maintaining an appropriate balance of cooperation, communication, and integration among the departments, faculty and staff to ensure an efficient and progressive environment that carries out a program of quality education.
- Provides the opportunity for growth and development of staff through learning opportunities, professional mentorship, research, and other staff development activities.
Duties & Responsibilities: - Leadership framework for planning, directing, and coordinating services within the Division.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and Florida License requirements.
- Develop and evaluate programs for comprehensive patient care.
- Implement strategies to enhance quality and innovative nursing practices.
- Monitor and manage departmental budgets, including personnel, services, supplies, and equipment.
- Analyze and assess current and future service needs.
- Establish departmental goals and objectives with timelines.
- Recruit, motivate, evaluate, and maintain an effective staff.
- Provide training, education, and development opportunities for staff.
- Foster collaborative relationships with professional and ancillary staff
- Contribute to the Performance Improvement Program's development and execution.
- Ensure continuous assessment and improvement of service quality.
- Set performance standards and conduct employee evaluations.
- Support compliance with federal, state, and local laws governing ethical healthcare practices.
- Report suspected health care fraud, waste, abuse, or compliance-related issues through reporting mechanisms.
- Perform any other job duties as assigned.
Experience:
Generally requires 7 to 10 years of related experience. Management experience is required. Transplant Experience Highly Preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in related field is required. Master's degree is preferred. At least one degree must be in Nursing.
License Certification:
Valid Florida RN license is required. Advanced Nursing Administration certification is preferred. Leaders performing direct patient care are required to have a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment.
