Experienced Security Specialist
Department: Security Service
Status: Full-time
Shift: Must be open to any availability
Selection Criteria:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- At least three years security experience, plus health service or customer services experience with a high degree of interaction with the general public.
- Two years military, fire/rescue, police or other law enforcement can be substituted for security experience.
- Physically fit and able to pass fitness exam. Position may require periods of intense physical activity in extreme conditions.
- Minimum computer competency: Microsoft Word or equivalent.
- Able to communicate effectively and concisely in written and spoken English.
- Able to work any shift, any days, including weekends and holidays, in any Jackson Health facility.
- Good social skills and able to deal effectively with the general public.
- Able to understand and follow directions.
- College level criminal justice credits and/or security experience in a hospital environment a plus.
- Valid Florida Driver's License.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
- Ability to demonstrate literacy in using computerized information systems.
- AFTER 10/20/2014: Two years of ACTIVE/FULL-TIME military, fire/rescue, police or other law enforcement can be substituted for security experience.
