Medical Surgical Attendant
Department: Main Operating Room
Status: Full Time
Shift: Evenings (2:45pm - 11:15pm) rotating
The Medical Surgical Attendant is a member of the health care team who assists the nursing and surgical professional staffs in the care of patients and in maintaining a safe and clean environment under the direction of the nursing staff, shift supervisor and director of nursing. Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of their patient; demonstrate knowledge of growth and development; assess data reflective of the patient�s status; and identify each patient�s requirements relative to age specific needs. Perform specific job criteria/performance standards according to prevailing applicable unit, division, hospital and professional standards.
Selection Criteria:
- High School Diploma or successful completion of GED and the ability to follow written/oral communication is required.
- Previous experience as a medical surgical attendant is desired.
- Must be able to lift and move patients in a safe manner.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
