The Nurse manager is a first-line manager of the health care team who assumes advocacy and accountability for others under his/her direct supervision; has twenty-four hour responsibility for unit(s), provides/assures a single standard of care to all patients. Acts as a professional role modes/mentor to health care members. Responsible for the coordination of all aspects of patient care, human resources, fiscal management and organizational development. The Nurse manager must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of their patients; demonstrate knowledge of and identify each patient's requirements relative to age specific needs. The Nurse manager performs specific job criteria/performance standards according to prevailing applicable unit, division, hospital and professional standards.
- RN required.
- Florida RN license or eligibility required.
- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing required.
- Three years experience in Nursing within a Medical/Surgical area, with one year's experience in a management position required.
- Five years overall and three years in a management position desired.
- Level 1 Trauma experience preferred.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required.
- Ability to demonstrate literacy in using computerized information systems.
