Imaging Engineering Specialist, Jackson Memorial Hospital, FT, Days
Imaging Engineering Specialist is a person skilled in technical and supervisory work in the repair and preventive maintenance of imaging equipment, electro mechanical medical equipment. Work requires a broad knowledge of medical equipment and includes responsibility for shop supervision, assignment and training of subordinate specialist.
Test, repairs, calibrate and perform preventive maintenance procedures on complex medical equipment. Troubleshoots electronic circuits to the component level. Reads and interprets schematics diagrams, service manuals, wiring sketches and work in the English and metric system. Demonstrates ability to use a wide variety of test instruments in performing troubleshooting and repair procedures. Possesses knowledge of basic hand tool application and ability to use those tools. Possesses knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Demonstrates skills in the use of metal turning lathe, drill press, grinders, and other general machine tool and associated hand tools. Accurately documents all aspects of work performed and maintains equipment records. Communicates effectively with varied professional level of hospital staff. Demonstrates ability to work under widely changing demands and stress levels and in sensitive situations unique to a medical institution. Demonstrates behaviors of service excellence and CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Expertise). Performs all other related job duties as assigned. Furthermore, as needed, travel via public transportation or personal vehicle to other JHS facilities to inspect/maintain/repair equipment.
High school diploma is required. Associate's degree is strongly preferred.
Generally requires 5 to 7 years of related experience.
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.
BLS ACLS PALS NRP
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with critical thinking and professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment. Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications.
Job functions requires extended walking or standing. Must be able to climb stairs/ladder, stoop, bend, crawl and perform repetitive motions as needed. Must be able to carry objects weighing 21 to 50 pounds. Must be able to lift , push or pull objects weighing 51 to 100 pounds with the use of appropriate devices. Function requires visual acuity to perform job related activities such as: operating machines or motor vehicles and performing mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a repetitive and non-repetitive nature.
