Systems Administration & Data Center Engineering Dept.

Position Summary: 
Senior Network Analyst is an advanced technical supervisory work in a unit providing technical support for Local and Wide Areas Networks. Responsibilities include configuring, installing and testing network hub equipment; planning and designing new computer installation floor plans; troubleshooting network problems; monitoring network management system and optimizing connectivity; and maintaining network equipment spares and inventory status.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Supports microcomputer and PC users in the systems basic operations and applications software. Analyzes, develops and documents customized PC database applications. Assists in the development of microcomputer and PC hardware and software standards to be implemented on a institution-wide basis. Assists in the evaluation of microcomputer and PC hardware and software. Assists in the problem determination relative to the operation of hardware and software selection. Assists Supervisor in the constant evaluation of Communication Services policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective service to users. Assists in the development of personal computer database programs for use throughout the hospital. Assists microcomputer users in application analysis for appropriate hardware and software selection. Participates in consultation with vendors of microcomputer hardware and software selection. Provides technical support to all departments within the hospital. Develops and maintains inventory of administrative microcomputer and PC hardware. Ensures development, implementation and evaluation of the Continuous Quality Improvement Plan to identify improvement opportunities. Ensures development and implementation of organization-wide and unit specific age-specific safety, security and infection control standards. Provides leadership through planning, organizing, coordinating, continually monitoring and evaluating the quality of services provided. Allocates adequate resources commensurate with authority to assess and improve service provided. Communicates the organization mission and vision to all staff. Ensures staff participation in required education programs and appropriate orientation and training courses to maintain competency in job skills, knowledge and equipment, including HIS, safety, infection control, AIDS Awareness, age-related special needs. Ensures that staff respect the rights, privacy and property of others at all times including the confidentiality of information, according to administrative policies and all applicable laws and regulations. Relates and interacts well with others relative to their age-specific, physical and psychosocial needs. Performs other duties comparable to the above as assigned by the immediate supervisor or as directed by a higher authority. Subject to on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Experience:
Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience.

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.

License Certification:
Valid license or certification is required as needed, based on the job or specialty.

Knowledge Skill Abilities:
Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work accurately while meeting multiple deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to exercise sound and independent judgment Knowledge and skill in use of job appropriate technology and software applications. Knowledge of IPX/SPX, TCP/IP, Frame Relay, ISDN.

Physical Demands:
Job function is sedentary in nature and requires sitting for extended periods of time. Function may require frequent standing or walking. Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 20 pounds. Jobs in this group are required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: extended use of computers, preparing and analyzing data and analytics, and other components of a typical office environment. Work Environment:
Jobs in this group are required to function in a fast paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent and stressful situations. Frequent interaction with a diverse population including team members, providers, patients, insurance companies and other members of the public. Function is subject to inside environmental conditions, with occasional outdoor exposures. Possible exposure to various environments such as: communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a hospital and medical office environment. May wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves or a mask when exposed to hospital environment outside of office.
