Transplant Social Worker

Selection Criteria:

Requires an MSW from a graduate school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work education. 1-3 years prior work experience as a social worker required. One year of experience in hospital setting highly preferred. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to demonstrate: Ability to assess a patients ability to adhere to therapeutic regimens. Ability to asses patient’s mental health history including degree of substance and alcohol use and how it may impact the success or failure of organ transplantation or the donor’s mental health post transplant. Ability to assess a patient’s and living donor’s (if applicable) coping abilities and strategies. Ability to assess the patient’s financial capabilities and resources. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required. Ability to demonstrate literacy in using computerized information systems.
