High School diploma with 7-9 years of related work experience required. Technical and/or Associate's degree with 10+ years of related work experience preferred. Must be credentialed with a HIM/Coding Credentials and/or Certification by AHIMA or AAPC. Superior Coding (ICD-9 and CPT) knowledge demonstrated by years of experience working with complex in-patient and out-patient medical records. AHIMA ICD-10-CM-PCS Trainer preferred. Literacy in using computerized information systems. Knowledge of 3M software and Cerner EHR preferred. Extensive knowledge of Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology.
